About your public IP address

Every device connected to the internet is assigned a public IP address by its internet service provider. This address is how remote servers identify your connection and route data back to you. Knowing your public IP is useful for configuring firewalls, setting up remote access, troubleshooting connectivity, or simply verifying which address websites see when you visit them.

This tool queries a free geolocation API to retrieve your IP alongside approximate location data. The geolocation is based on ISP registration records and is usually accurate to the city level, though it may reflect the location of your ISPs routing equipment rather than your precise physical location. No data is stored on our servers — the request goes directly from your browser to the external API.
